Product video agency vs Fiverr vs AI: which one fits your SaaS?
Six ways to get a product video, with real prices, real timelines and an honest answer to when each one is the right call — including when it isn't us.

The six options at a glance
Most teams don't choose between two options; they choose between six, and the prices span three orders of magnitude. What changes along the way isn't just polish. It's who comes up with the idea, whether the video shows your real product, and how much of your own time it takes.

DIY screen recording tools
Screen Studio (USD 29 a month, or USD 9 a month billed yearly) turns a Mac screen recording into something smooth: automatic zooms, cursor smoothing, captions. Trupeer and Clueso start from a recording and add an AI voiceover and written docs, from about USD 40 a month. Arcade makes clickable, interactive demos, with a free plan and a Growth plan at USD 50 per user a month.
When it's the right choice: tutorials, onboarding flows, help-center articles and the walkthrough you send after a sales call. These videos need to be accurate and easy to update, not cinematic, and nobody knows your product better than you. The limit: a recording shows what you click, not why it matters. It doesn't come with an idea, and it costs your own hours, every time.
AI video from your URL
Tools like supaintro (USD 29 per video, same day, landscape and portrait) and Motionflare (a free preview with watermark; Pro at USD 29 a month, Max at USD 99) read your homepage — copy, colors, screenshots — and generate a motion-graphics video with music and voiceover. You approve a storyline and get a file within minutes or hours.
When it's the right choice: you need something on your homepage this week, you're validating an idea before spending more, or the budget is close to zero. For USD 29 it's hard to argue with. The limit: it can only use what's already public, so it shows your website, not the inside of your app, and it works from templates. If your competitors use the same tools, your video will look like theirs.
Fiverr and low-cost services
Search Fiverr for a SaaS demo video and you'll find gigs starting under USD 50 and top sellers, including Fiverr Pro, charging well over USD 1,000, with delivery from one day to several weeks. The range is the point: some sellers are excellent, many reuse the same templates, and the gig page alone rarely tells you which is which.
When it's the right choice: a simple, well-defined video, and time to compare portfolios, order a small test and manage revisions yourself. The limit: you're usually the creative director. The concept, the script and the quality control land on you.
Freelance motion designers
A good independent motion designer typically charges USD 2,000–8,000 for a launch video and takes 2–4 weeks. You get real craft and a direct line to the person doing the work.
When it's the right choice: you already have a script or a clear idea, someone on your team can give creative direction, and you've found a designer whose portfolio matches your taste. The limit: one person's calendar. Sick days, other clients and each extra language or format add time and cost.
SaaS video agencies
Agencies that specialize in software quote USD 10,000–50,000 for a launch video and 4–8 weeks of work; Demo Duck says its typical project takes 8–10 weeks and recommends budgeting at least USD 16,000. Yum Yum Videos' calculator gives estimates from USD 6,000 to USD 62,000. Some are leaner: The Branx lists explainer videos from €5,000 in about two weeks. You get strategy workshops, scriptwriters, illustrators, animators and a producer.
When it's the right choice: a brand film, live action, a two-minute explainer, a series of videos with a campaign behind them, or a company big enough that the video has to go through many stakeholders. The limit: price and time. For a team of 5 to 50 people, USD 25,000 and two months is often more than the video needs to be.
Where we fit
We're one of the options in this comparison, so read this part with that in mind. ShipFilms makes product videos up to 60 seconds for SaaS and app teams: a concept made for your product, your real interface recreated in high definition (not a screen recording), a native voice in any of 70+ languages, licensed music, subtitles and every format — 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and app store previews.
Prices start at USD 200; two languages are included, and the final price depends on formats, extra languages and voices, and you get a fixed quote first. You get the full video 24 hours after a 50% deposit and access to your app, then three rounds of revisions. Each video is built as code, so a new language, format or UI change is a re-render, not a new project.

INVOICE_final_v3.docx, a spreadsheet with an empty “Paid?” column and follow-ups that get less friendly — until the client taps Pay and it turns lime.
When we're not the right choice: tutorials and onboarding (record those yourself), a video longer than a minute, live action, or a brand film with a campaign behind it (hire an agency). And if any video will do and the budget is USD 29, use an AI tool.
How to choose
1
Start with where the video will live
Help center or onboarding: record it yourself. Homepage, Product Hunt launch, ads or app stores: it has to work for someone who has never seen your product, in the first few seconds.
2
Decide who owns the idea
AI tools and most cheap gigs give you a template. Freelancers need direction. Agencies and specialized services bring the concept. Be honest about whether anyone on your team has the time to direct.
3
Check that it shows your real product
A video built only from your public site can't show what happens inside the app. If your product is the selling point, ask how they'll get to your real interface.
4
Count languages and formats up front
A second language or a vertical cut can double an agency quote. If you sell in several markets, ask for the price of the whole set, not just the first video. See multilingual product videos.
5
Compare total cost, including your time
A USD 29 video that needs a weekend of fixing, or a USD 300 gig with five rounds of feedback, isn't cheap. Our product video cost guide breaks down what drives the price.
Rule of thumb: record it yourself for tutorials, generate it with AI for a placeholder, hire an agency for a brand film. For a concept-led product video on a startup budget and timeline, look at specialized services and vetted freelancers.

Frequently asked questions
Is Fiverr good enough for a SaaS product video?
It can be. Fiverr has excellent motion designers alongside sellers who reuse templates, at prices from under USD 50 to over USD 1,000. If you go that way, compare portfolios with products like yours, order a short test first and expect to write the brief and direct the revisions yourself.
Can an AI tool replace a product video agency?
For a fast, low-cost first video, yes. AI tools build a video from your public site in minutes for about USD 29. What they don't bring is an idea of their own or the inside of your app, so the result tends to look like other generated videos. An agency or a specialized service starts from a concept and from your real interface.
How much does a SaaS product video agency cost?
Typically USD 10,000–50,000 for one launch video, with 4–10 weeks of production; Demo Duck recommends budgeting at least USD 16,000. Leaner studios start around €5,000. Extra languages and formats are usually quoted on top.
What's the best way to make a SaaS product video?
It depends on the job. Tutorials and onboarding: record them yourself with Screen Studio, Clueso or Trupeer. A homepage, launch or ad video: start from one clear idea, show your real interface, keep it under a minute and make it work without sound for the first seconds. Who makes it depends on budget and how much time you can give it.
Should I record my screen or get an animated product video?
Record your screen when the viewer already wants to learn your product: help docs, onboarding, sales follow-ups. Use a produced video when the viewer doesn't know you yet: homepage, launch, ads. A raw recording is slow and cluttered for someone who is still deciding whether to care.
How long does a product video take?
Minutes with AI tools, a day to a few weeks on Fiverr, 2–4 weeks with a freelance motion designer and 4–10 weeks with an agency. With us, the full video arrives 24 hours after the deposit and access to your app, followed by three rounds of revisions.
